Despite the competition

Seemingly everyone had a podcast coming into 2020. Now, after months of being locked up at home, even more and more podcasts have emerged (including my own).

There are podcasts for everything you can imagine. Some have insanely large audiences. Most only get a few listeners.

With the marketplace so crowded, does that mean it’s best to steer clear of podcast creation?

Of course not.

It just means that you better make something worthwhile.

Competition shouldn’t scare us away. If anything, it tends to indicate that others have found a useful place to engage with people who want to hear from them.

So if the hope is to lock in a thousand-person audience with little effort, then stay clear. But if the goal is to make something meaningful and engage with the people who are passionate about the same things you are, then fire away.
