What are you doing to get better today?
Whatever it is that you want to do, find some way to be better when you go to bed tonight than you were when you woke up.
Do the same thing tomorrow.
And the next day.
And the next day.
And the next day.
…
That’s how you become good at something. It’s not about making drastic leaps forward, it’s about sustainable, incremental improvements.
Do you think Michael Jordan became who he is because he had one incredible workout?
Or did he become one of the greatest athletes of all time because he worked hard day in and day out?
I would bet on the second one.
Great things don’t happen all at once, they happen bit by bit.
If you want to be a great basketball player, practice dribbling everyday. If you want to be a better reader, find something to read everyday. If you want to be a good writer, write everyday.
You might not notice the difference after one day, or even five.
But think about where you’ll be after a month. Or a year. Or five years.
