Would you rather fall 100 times from a height of 1 foot or once from a height of 100 feet?
Obviously the shorter fall is the better option.
From 1 foot, you can easily land on your feet and prevent any damage. The quantity doesn’t matter.
Not so in the other scenario. Even though it only happens once, a fall from 100 feet would almost certainly kill you.
So it’s clear that impact doesn’t scale linearly in certain cases.
It’s similar to someone who tracks the total amount of weight they lift in a given workout.
The benefits from bench pressing 50 lbs 200 times are very different than the benefits from lifting 200 lbs 50 times.
