Better with Age

A well-built mahogany piece of furniture will not only stand the test of the time if it’s well-maintained, but it will actually look better with age.

Same thing with stone or brick.

There’s no way to replicate the beauty of an old house that was built with quality materials and kept under good care.

Yet when we make choices going forward, we rarely think about the future. We focus on today.

We choose the laminate furniture rather than pure wood, siding rather than brick, plastic rather than metal, and so on.

Sure, there are situations when it makes sense to save money. And there are even times when newer materials are better suited for certain applications and will actually hold up better in the long run.

But more often than not, the choices we make are the difference between building for now, and building for tomorrow.
