The Night of bin Laden’s Death

The story has it that on the night of the mission that led to Osama bin Laden’s death, then-President Barack Obama was at a social event, acting no different than he would on a typical night.

While one of the major undercover military events in America’s history was ongoing, the Commander in Chief was able to go about his business as if nothing was out of the ordinary.

Given the nature of the attack, the events make sense. Abnormal behavior could’ve only hurt the mission’s chances.

But the part that stands out to me is how he was able to separate the different areas in his life and let the things go that were out of his control.

I can only imagine the stresses that the President endures, but it’s easy enough to see these types of situations in everyday life.

Things come up. Sometimes planned, sometimes not.

Once they’re out of your control, there’s no point letting that impact the rest of your life.
