Long plane rides are boring.

Cut off from the connected world that we’re used to living in, we’re stuck trying to pass the time by watching random movies, listening to music, and reading books. But if we change the mindset, this time can actually present a unique opportunity.

Without the distractions of everyday life, we’re left alone with our thoughts.

Some of the best big-picture thinking I’ve ever done has been on a plane. Being 30,000 off the ground provides a perspective that is hard to match.

So rather than complaining about the cramped, boring environment next time you’re on a plane, try to take advantage of the unique opportunity you have.
