Envisioning our end results can be a strong motivator. We think about the reward at the end (pride, a trophy, money, recognition, etc.) and we get the urge to push on.
But the results can’t be the only thing that drives us.
No matter how hard we work, the end results are never guaranteed. We can put in tremendous work and create a great product, just for it to be cancelled by someone above our circle of influence or rejected by consumer behavior.
We can check every box and position ourselves in the best possible position, but have it all come crashing down because of some fluke event.
These types of events are inevitable. The more chances we take and the bigger dreams we chase, the more likely it is that we won’t finish everything we start.
If we only attach ourselves to the end result, what happens when it comes crashing down?
