What’s next?

The current status of the pandemic will pass, but life won’t return to normal.

I’ve recently highlighted what this might mean for the automotive industry (link) and we should start thinking about what this means in each of our spheres.

The current level of paranoia will subside. Despite how unappealing it might sound to go to a crowded restaurant, we’ll get over the fear. Restauarants will surive.

But not every restaurant. The bottom of the barrel will likely fall out.

And not in the same way they currently exist. Sanitation and the prevention of disease transmission will be held in a much higher regard than before. Restaurants that can’t adapt will be left behind, and those that are able to pave the way will cash in on a new-found competitive advantage.

But the restaurant industry is just one example.

There are lasting factors that will shape many aspects of our lives for years to come.

No one has a crystal ball. We can’t say for sure what the future will look like.

But now’s the time to start thinking, or risk being left behind.
