Rather than simply moping because our lives are restricted, we can use the current situation as an opportunity to learn about ourselves.
Our lives have been disrupted for several weeks now: what specific aspects of your old life do you miss?
Going out to eat?
Shopping wherever, and whenever you want?
Seeing family and friends?
Once you’ve found out what you actually miss (and what you might not care about as much as you would’ve thought), you can take it a step further. What is it about the things that mean so much to you?
If you miss going out to eat, is it because you miss the break from your routine? Or the tasty food? Or the convenience of not cooking? Or the freedom to go a night without planning every little thing?
If we make the effort to dig down into the things we’re missing, we can begin to uncover what it is that we truly care about.
Which then gives us the ability to look for the end results through other routes while our options are limited, and enables us to go all in on the things that truly matter to us once life eventually gets closer to how it was.
