The world was flipped on its head earlier this year. We were forced to stay home. Our everyday lives disappeared, and were replaced with something new.
This has gradually begun to reverse. Bits and pieces of our old, “normal” life are returning.
With this return, it’s easy to get sucked into taking everything back, but in doing see, we forfeit this great opportunity we have. When everything changed, we were forced to try something new. Calendars freed up. Commutes disappeared. Sports stopped. And so on.
Some of these changes were good. They allowed us to see where we were wasting time, and which parts of our lives were worth focusing on. The theory at the time, and that still stands true today, is that we would be able to learn from this forced experiment to be more intentional about the way we spend our time and energy rather than simply following the status quo.
But that’s only possible if we have the courage to put these improvements into practice.
As normal life gradually returns, now’s the time to stand firm on the positive aspects of quarantine life.
