The way someone works at 4 pm on Friday tends to say a lot about the way they approach their work.
Some people shut off their brains and coast into the weekend.
Others maintain, or even increase their intensity.
For the people who coast, it tends to be a good indicator that they view their work as a place to pass time. They come for 40 hours per week to sit in a chair and wait until they can go home.
The other group?
They tend to have much more purpose. They view their work as something worthwhile.
So when the week is winding down, they focus on what they’re building rather than watching the clock.
Neither is necessarily better than the other.
But I’ve noticed that I don’t personally find coasting to be very enjoyable.
