Advice from the Future

When we look back on our past, we see our lives with a sense of clarity that we typically miss in the present moment.

It can be so obvious to see what we’ve done well and where we could’ve potentially done better. Even if you’re like me and wouldn’t necessary want to change anything that led to the present, it can be easy to pick up on opportunities for improvement going forward.

That’s why one of my favorite questions that Tim Ferriss asks on his podcast is what advice his guest would give to his or her 25-, 30-, or 40-year-old self.

But it can be even more interesting if you take it a step further.

What advice would your future self give to you right now? If you somehow had the ability to look at your current situation with the same clarity that you see your life 5 or 10 years ago, what would you do differently?
