Some people see a stumble as a display of poor coordination.
I see the opposite.
Walking in a straight line is easy. If you pay attention to your surroundings and never move too fast, it shouldn’t be hard to walk without fear of falling.
But inevitably, you’ll stumble, or knock something over, or otherwise be put in a comprised position that will require your reaction.
And the key will be how you recover. That’s what lets you show just how (un)coordinated you really are.
Same thing if you’re ever doing work for someone.
If the work follows a brainless, well-established process, maybe you can avoid any hiccups.
But if it requires any expertise or creative thinking, or if there’s any variability involved, problems will inevitably occur.
These problems often define the working relationship.
Sure it’s important to prevent these mistakes where possible, but the real differentiator between you and your competition is how you can recover. How you show that you care.
That’s what makes someone want to come back for more.
