Making the most of it

As much as I’ll miss watching college basketball (or sports of any kind) and doing different things around town, the reality is that these things are gone for the foreseeable future.

Which presents a choice.

We can certainly spend the next few weeks looking for ways to pass the time, or we can use this forced activity change to our advantage.

Here are a few things to consider:

– Finding an interesting subject to learn about, and reading/watching everything you can on that topic (and letting this process drive you to more and more topics to learn about)

– Practicing meditation

– Taking long walks or runs

– Doing pushups every day

– Spending quality time with family members

– Playing board games and puzzles

– Reflecting on the things you do/don’t like at work, and how they can be improved

– Cleaning obscure rooms around the house

– And so on

No one wants to be quarantined. But now that we are, we get to decide whether we’re going to simply try to get through it, or if we’re going to take advantage of the opportunities that these times present.
