As much as we learn and seek to grow, it’s important to remember that we’re far from perfect.
Sure we might know that we should eat nutritious foods and get exercise, but that doesn’t mean we need to feel guilty about occasionally eating a piece of cake and sitting on the couch.
We might intuitively understand that we shouldn’t react based on our emotions, but that doesn’t mean we won’t slip up.
No matter how hard we try and how much progress we make, we’ll still continue to make mistakes Sometimes in big ways.
But that’s not the point.
The point is that we’re making the effort to be better and that we’re generally trending in the right direction. Ideally the mistakes will become less frequent and impactful, and they’ll pale in comparison to all of the great things we’re doing. But they’ll still be there.
Which is fine. Cut yourself some slack.
