Weather has a huge impact on the game of football.
A game played on a clear, dry day will look quite different than a game played in the wind and rain. Adverse conditions slow the game down, minimize the effectiveness of the passing game, and increase the chances of turnovers and other costly mistakes.
Certain teams are inherently better suited for these types of messy games simply based on their skillsets and play style, but more than anything, there appears to be a single variable that determines how well a team plays in the rain – their ability to accept it.
Not to pout about their bad luck.
Not to wish for better weather.
But to simply accept the situation for what it is, and adjust accordingly.
There’s no point worrying about things we can’t control.
