The car has three drive modes – Sport, Regular, and Eco.
Sport mode is the most fun. The engine speed stays high, the turbo spools, and the car feels like it’s ready to jump into action. Turns are thrilling, and even changing lanes is fun.
But there’s a downside. In addition to the extra fuel that’s burned in Sport mode, I actually find that I leave less satisfied.
Objectively, the experience is better. Yet I constantly feel the urge to push for more – faster turns, quicker accelerations, etc.
It never feels like enough.
Normal, or even Eco, mode is more performance than I’ve had before and, admittedly, it’s more than enough for what I need commuting around the city.
I switch to Sport mode just because it’s there. Not because I need, or even really want, the extra performance.
It’s just a car, but I think there’s something deeper here.
Maybe it’s not worth pushing for more when we already have enough.
