One of my favorite concepts is the idea of The Obstacle is the Way. Basically, not only can we survive despite our greatest setbacks, but sometimes we can actually thrive because of these setbacks.
There are numerous examples from sports, business, and general life in which this has played out; but I want to point out potentially the most well-known example: Jesus Christ.
As Nipsey Hussle phrases it in his song Bigger than Life, “The world would not know Jesus Christ if there was never Judas.”
It’s certainly a though-provoking line, and I think it’s true.
There are plenty of interesting, inspiring stories from before Jesus’s death, but where would that all be if it weren’t for Judas’s betrayal that led to Jesus’s death, and the subsequent rise?
Would the impact still be so widespread, or would it be a minor footnote?
